01

Summary

Local Screen Studio does not transmit captured content.

Screenshots, screen recordings, camera video, microphone audio, clipboard images, imported files, browsing activity, and annotations are not sent to the developer or third parties.

Local Screen Studio is a local-first screenshot, annotation, and screen-recording browser extension. It has no analytics, advertising, tracking, cloud-storage, account, or telemetry service.

02

Information handled by the extension

The extension may process the following information only after you explicitly start the corresponding feature:

  • Pixels from the visible page, a selected page region, or a full scrolling page.
  • Pixels and audio from a browser tab, display, application window, or screen you select.
  • Camera video and microphone audio when you enable and approve those options.
  • Images you choose from a local file or clipboard.
  • Annotations and edits you create.
  • Temporary extension state required to transfer a capture into the local editor.

Captured content may contain personal or sensitive information depending on what you choose to capture. The extension does not inspect that content for advertising, profiling, analytics, or any purpose unrelated to creating the requested screenshot or recording.

03

How information is used

Information is used exclusively to provide the extension's user-facing capture, annotation, recording, clipboard, and local-save functions. Processing occurs on your device.

Storage and retention

Completed screenshots and recordings are saved only to locations chosen through Chrome's download or print interfaces. Temporary screenshot data may be stored in Chrome extension storage while opening the editor and is removed when the editor retrieves it. Closing the relevant extension page or removing the extension deletes remaining extension-managed temporary data according to Chrome's storage behavior.

Data transmission and sharing

Local Screen Studio does not transmit captured content or user data to the developer, analytics providers, advertisers, cloud-storage providers, or other third parties. No user data is sold or shared.

04

Browser permissions

The extension requests permissions needed to capture user-selected pages, screens, windows, and tabs; open the local editor and recorder; temporarily pass large captures to the editor; import or copy clipboard images after a user action; and save completed files locally. Permissions are used only for the extension's stated single purpose.

Page accessUsed only during an explicit screenshot or recording action.
StorageTemporarily passes captures to the local editor.
DownloadsSaves finished screenshots and recordings to your computer.
ClipboardReads or writes images only after you choose that action.
05

User control and deletion

You control when capture begins, which source is shared, whether camera or microphone is enabled, and where output files are saved. You can stop a recording at any time, delete downloaded files through your operating system, clear extension storage through Chrome, or remove the extension.

Security

Because Local Screen Studio does not operate a remote content service, captured content is not exposed to a developer-managed network or server. You remain responsible for the security of files saved on your device.

Children

Local Screen Studio is a general productivity tool and is not directed toward children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other users.

06

Changes and contact

Material changes will be reflected in an updated policy with a new effective date and, where appropriate, an updated Chrome Web Store listing. Questions can be submitted through the support contact on the Local Screen Studio Chrome Web Store listing.
